The Equity Release Process

- Initial no-obligation conversation – If you’re interested in a lifetime mortgage, one of our qualified Equity Release Advisers will find out about your individual circumstances and requirements, answer any questions you may have and give you all the information you need to make an informed decision on whether it’s right for you. - Discuss with your family – It’s important to discuss your plans with your family as any decisions you make now could affect them later down the line; whether it’s a potential impact on their inheritance, or they have to take on the responsibility of the loan when your plan ends.
- Searching the market – At your request, your adviser will conduct their research and compare all the plans available to find the one that suits your needs and circumstances.
- Second conversation – Your dedicated adviser will present their recommendation to you and answer any questions you may have. They will also provide you with a personalised report to show the breakdown of your options.
- Paperwork – If you decide to go ahead, Fluent will package your application with the chosen provider and an independent surveyor will be instructed to value your property.
- Offer – The next stage is for the provider to issue an offer. This includes full terms and conditions for you to approve and sign.
- Solicitor – An independent solicitor will cover the legal aspects for you.
- Completion and cash released – Typically, we estimate that the cash will be released in around 8-10 weeks from application to completion. The time to start enjoying yourself and doing all the things you’ve planned!
